Eigashima Shuzou was founded in 1888 as a sake maker in Akashi, Hyogo. Now they are making sake, wine, spirit, liqueur, brandy and whisky.

It is said that the company started whisky making in 1919 but the details are unknown. The present whisky distillery was founded in 1985. The site is stuated in Akashi town, Hyogoken by the sea of Setouchi and has the head office, the whisky distillery, a spirit distillery and sake brewery. The distillery has two stills in a streight head shape heated by steam. Malted barley is imported from Britain.

They distill only sometimes so the supply is very limited.
