The company is based in Kagoshima and started whisky distillation in 1953. The company has the whisky distilled in Kagoshima still left.

Shinshu Factory was founded in 1985 by a river in a beautiful glen near to a SPA resort and the brewary has been opened in the building in 1996. The distillation were runned only in winter once but now the distillery is silent. Peated malt is imported. Stainless mash tun, Two stilles heated by steam, the water from two wells in the site, matured mainly in Sherry casks but plane oak casks, brandy casks and Burbon casks are also used. 500 casks are now in the warehouses. The factory has also a bottling plant, a shop, a brew pub and a herb garden. Also they have a restaurant near to the factory.
