Water: Transported by a tanker from Kaminoizumi
(Literaly "God's Spring") in Chichibu.

Hanyu distillery: http://www.toashuzo.com/whisky.htm
Situated in a rice field, the distillery was founded in April 1946 with
one pot still. The water was transported from a spring near to the sake
brewary. The distillery had two stilles heated by steam. New oak cask and
Sherry cask were used for maturing. The distillery buildings housed also
a continuous still, a bottling plant, the Sake brewary and the head office.
The company was importing malts from Scotland and producing blended whisky
too.
They distilled only sometimes so the supply is very limited.
The business came to a standstill, the owner sold the company to another company, the new owner was not interested in whisky making and the distillery facilities was removed in 2004. The past owner (managing director) is keeping the rest casks and the removed stills in a warehouse. He is selling a wide range of limited Hanyu bottlings. Web of his 'Venture Whisky Ltd' is at http://homepage3.nifty.com/venture-whisky/ and http://maltdream.com/. His plan, to found a new distillery and distill whisky with local barley and local peat in Saitama, is on.
Single malt: Golden Horse Chichibu 8yo is still available in the company web.
